There’s something special about watching two people come together and vow to be together for the rest of their lives. And even though we get to see this everyday, it never gets old for us. Jen and Luke are young soulmates who met in church and got married after all these years! And to say that watching them get married was surreal would be an understatement. The couple chose Pheasant Hill, one of the best wedding venues Pretoria has to offer, for their big day, and it was the perfect venue for their elegant wedding.

Pheasant Hill is a stunning setting for any wedding. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and the perfect backdrop for photos. We were able to capture some truly unforgettable moments, and the venue definitely helped to make the day even more special. We started our day photographing the bride as she got some help from her bridesmaids while getting ready. Jen was glowing, and she was truly one of the happiest brides we’ve ever worked with. We also loved how her bridal brigade was there to support her and make her feel special. She truly looked like a vision in her white lace wedding dress, which was also complemented by a bouquet of white roses and a delicate wedding veil.
Luke and Jen’s wedding day was perfect. From the incredible flowers to the delicious food, every detail of the day was so well-planned. We weren’t really surprised because we knew these two had great taste. After seeing Jen’s final look, we were really looking forward to watching her walk down the aisle, and when the bride did make an entrance, she had everyone’s attention. The couple was emotional and ecstatic during the entire ceremony. One thing we really loved about these two was how much they loved to laugh. They were clearly head-over-heels in love, and it was such a joy to witness their union.
The venue had a timeless and elegant setting. From the stunning staircase to the gorgeous gardens, Pheasant Hill is filled with splendid, picturesque backdrops for wedding portraits. We walked through the venue for couples portraits of the newly married couple, and Pheasant Hill did not disappoint. Luke and Jen were so much fun to photograph, partly because they love having fun themselves! Luke would pick Jen up, and twirl her around in his arms, which made Jen giggle and laugh and also gave us plenty of real moments to capture.
There was one time during the sunset portraits session, which was our absolute favourite! Luke and Jen were standing in the equestrian area, with the beautiful sun setting behind them. But as soon as we started taking pictures, Jen started sinking into the sand. She was wearing heels, and there was no way she could get out by herself. And Luke, like her real-life knight in shining armour, rescued her from the beach sand. These two were picture-perfect; anything they did turned into a portrait!
